The ACSA SWSIS program offers a $10,000 scholarship to a woman for use in her junior or senior year of undergraduate studies, or first year of a graduate program (i.e., application may be made in the spring of her sophomore, junior, or senior year, or the spring before entering a graduate program if a bachelor’s degree has already been completed). The scholarship is administered by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

CERIAS PhD Candidate Appointed an Emerging Leader by the American Library Association
Temitope Toriola, a 1st year Information Security PhD candidate at CERIAS, was appointed an Emerging Leader by the American Library Association.
Victor Raskin (Linguistics, CERIAS), Chris Clifton (C.S., CERIAS), Luo Si (C.S., CERIAS) and Karen Chang (School of Nursing) received a $1.5 million award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to enhance the anonymization and de-identification of sensitive data.
Discussed are two projects at CERT to use operationally collected datasets to understand (1) important trends in malware binaries and (2) reliably informing re-investigations for security clearances. Both of these projects fit into CERT’s overall approach for using operational data to drive research in cyber security.
