• The Greater Lafayette Security Professionals September meeting will be a workshop on using metasploit to probe for vulnerabilities in virtual environments on September 13.
• The first of the Fall CERIAS Security Seminars will be begin this week:
  • August 22, Scott Anderson, Lockheed Martin
  • August 29, Lewis Shepherd, Microsoft
  • September 5, Ed Lopez, Fortinet

  The seminar will begin at 4:30pm in Stewart G52 and will also be shown on the Purdue channel. These seminars are recorded and made available as podcasts through iTunes and on YouTube.

Security Updates

• Microsoft Security Updates for August 2012 include 5 critical and 4 important vulnerabilities corrected, August 14.
• Google Chrome on the Stable channel was updated to 21.0.1180.79 correcting an Adobe Flash Player issue, August 14.
• Adobe Flash Player was updated to 11.3.300.271 for Windows and 11.2.202.238 for Linux, August 14.
