5G IMS Security

Research Areas: Network Security

Principal Investigator: Chunyi Peng

This project expands our prior studies on 3G/4G voice security to investigate 4G/5G voice security, particularly those relevant to IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), which is responsible for enabling packet-switched voice calls and SMS services through Voice over NR (VoNR), also known as Voice over 5G (Vo5G). In this project, we aim to uncover unknown vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors on both device and network sides.
