Biography
I am affiliated with the Governance and Responsible AI Lab (GRAIL) and the Computational Social Science Lab (CSS). My research examines the disruptive challenges posed by emerging digital technologies across political science, public administration, and law. In particular, I study how artificial intelligence and digital platforms reshape questions of ethics, governance, and sovereignty, and how they influence the shifting dynamics of global political and economic systems.
My scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and international conference presentations on topics such as AI ethics, regulatory governance, and platform politics. I earned my Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from Seoul National University, where my dissertation analyzed the rise of new interest groups in the platform economy, and my B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from Yonsei University.
Prior to joining Purdue, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Seoul National University’s Center for Intelligent Society and Policy (CISP). I also worked as a management consultant at global firms including Deloitte Consulting and Arthur D. Little, and gained government experience through internships at the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea. These combined academic, professional, and policy experiences provide me with a distinctive interdisciplinary perspective that enriches my research on technology policy and governance.
