Abstract
Fraudulent online reviews of businesses are a major problem for online communities. Most methods of identifying fraudulent reviews rely on statistical machine learning techniques focused on letter frequency and syntax. This research takes first steps at analyzing the semantic differences in legitimate versus fraudulent online reviews by looking at properties as defined by Ontological Semantics.
