In the 2011 release of Information System Defence and Security: France's Strategy, it is stated that the nation's strategic objectives are to: become a world power in cyber defense, strengthen the cyber security of critical national infrastructures, safeguard France's ability to make decisions through the protection of information related to its sovereignty, and ensure security in cyberspace. From these goals, it is clear that the focus of French cyber policies is defensive. Therefore, it would be of interest to policymakers as well as information security specialists to answer the question "What cyber defense capabilities and policies is France integrating into its military doctrine?"
