In this work, we propose a new way of extending the current state-of-the-art intrusion detection systems by utilizing the publicly available social behavior information of hackers as an additional intrusion detection system to gather warnings about a particular threat. Unlike previous work that studied how media sources contribute to trending topics on social platforms like Twitter or Facebook, we intend to study how these social platforms can be leveraged to identify trends/outbreaks in security.
