  • 11:35 - 1:00 Presentation

    • Topic: Process Isolation.

We all know that software can be a tad buggy. We also have a lot of trust in our software, hoping that it will always behave as we expect. Sadly, there are some that like to abuse software and its flaws. Sometimes they are good guys looking to make the world a safer place. Others are just mean, evil, and sometimes nasty. What are we to do when software engineering and testing fail us? How can we maintain a stable and secure system using software that sometimes misbehaves?

One technique that we will talk about this time is isolation. There are a variety of isolation mechanism that have been around since ye olde times that we will look at in this talk. We will also look at two operating systems (and hopefully play with them) that have incorporated some of these techniques into a reasonable user experience.

      • Topic: Mozilla's Persona (time permitting)
  • 1:00 Meeting Ends
