The following is a partial list of CPE opportunities that fulfill (ISC)2 requirements; they may satisfy continuing education requirements for other organizations too.

FREE

• CERIAS Security Seminar. Can attend each week, or view webcasts from the archive. Usually 1 CPE per webcast.

• Purdue October Security Awareness events. Four or five sessions offered in October each year. Attend in person or view the archived webcasts. 4 - 6 CPE per year.

• Read one security related book per year. Check the Safari Tech Books Online collection. 5 CPE per year. (Purdue career account ID and password required).

• Subscribe to Information Security magazine. 5 CPE per year.

• Attend Greater Lafayette Information Technology Society (GLITS) meetings. Depending on the topic, group A or group B CPEs may be earned. 1 CPE per month. See the link for information and mailing list details.

• Listen to Security Related Podcasts 1 CPE per hour.

• SANS Webcast. Usually 1 CPE per webcast.

Good Value

• $0 - $180. Annual CERIAS Information Security Symposium. Usually 8 - 10 CPEs. (The 2010 CERIAS Security Symposium was free to Purdue Staff and Students)

CPE Opportunites that come with membership in an InfoSec organization

• (ISC)2 Recorded Events. $85 annual dues. Usually 3 CPEs. If the user passes a quiz at the end of the webcast, they earn 3 CPEs that (ISC)2 will not audit.

• ISSA webcasts. $120 for at large membership. 1 - 3 CPEs.

• ISACA webcasts. $190 first year annual fees, Central Indiana Chapter. 1 - 3 CPEs.
