Presentation:

Greg Hedrick and his staff presented information about attacks against the Purdue network and some actions taken by ITNS to respond to incidents.

Discussion Points:

  1. Please consider attending the upcoming CERIAS 2010 Symposium on March 30, 31. It is free for Purdue staff, faculty and students. You must register to attend. CERIAS Symposium Registration

  2. There are also other events coming up:

    • Indiana Cyber Security Conference, May 12, 2010. It will be held at the Indiana Government Center South, Auditorium, 402 W. Washington St., Indianapolis. Registration fee: $25.
    • Higher Education Cybersecurity Summit 2010, April 1, 2010. It will be held at the University Place Conference Center on the IUPUI campus in Indianapolis. Registration fee: $0.

Action Items (Continuing from the previous meeting)

  1. Greg Hedrick will investigate a larger intrusion detection meeting or workshop for the Purdue community. We may also investigate holding a larger meeting and invite other institutions to participate.

  2. Members are asked to look into forming a employee-based "club" that can be recognized by the university. Please ask other members of the Purdue community how this can be accomplished.
