Announcements

  • Many thanks to the Purdue community and its participation in the Purdue National Cybersecurity Awareness Month event on October 5th. Many of the Greater Lafayette Security Professionals were presenters and attendees. Thank you for making it a success. A video stream of the main track and the technical track are available on the SecurePurdue site.
  • The Fall CERIAS Security Seminars continue:

    The seminars begin at 4:30pm in Stewart Center G52 and will also be shown on the Purdue channel. These seminars are recorded and made available as podcasts through iTunes and on YouTube.

Security Updates

  • Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird were updated to 16.0.1 after the 16 release of Firefox was pulled due to a vulnerability, October 11
  • Adobe Flash Player was updated with a security bulletin. Multiple versions are affected. See the bulletin for more details and updated version numbers, October 8
  • Microsoft released several updates on Patch Tuesday. Only one was critical and affected Microsoft Office. The other six updates were categorized as Important and affected Office, Windows, and SQL Server, October 9
