CERIAS PhD Candidate Appointed an Emerging Leader by the American Library Association

Temitope Toriola, a 1st year Information Security PhD candidate at CERIAS, was appointed an Emerging Leader by the American Library Association.

The Emerging Leaders program “enables librarians and library staff from across the country to participate in project planning workgroups; network with peers; gain an inside look into ALA structure; and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity early in their careers.” (http://ala.org/ala/newspresscenter/news/pr.cfm?id=5495)

Toriola is a 1st semester Information Security PhD candidate at CERIAS. Her research topic is “Asset Management: Access and Security Measures for Digital Documents and Archives.” She has a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in French from the University of Colorado.

Toriola currently serves on the American Library Association Committee on Professional Ethics. While completing her MLIS she participated in field research at the Pentagon Library in the Technical Services Department.
