Last week, we sent out an item to the COAST Watch newsletter entitled
"Special Notice: News on Pending US Legislation."  This was a note
about recent action in the U.S. Congress concerning new regulations
on encryption.

Unfortunately, a bug in out mail software caused this mail to (twice)
clog up our mailer.  The local postmasters were forced to kill the
mail job, and over half the list failed to get the mail.

Rather than send that mail again, I suggest you obtain a copy via the
mailing list archive server.  Send mail to
"coastwatch-request@cs.purdue.edu" with the message body "get latest/4"
The "missing" mail will be sent to you.  If you live or do business in
the US, this issue is one that you should know about: it may involve
severe restrictions on purchase, sale and use of encryption in the U.S.
in the near future.
