NSWC Crane Operational Dependency Analysis for Cybersecurity

This project focuses on the analysis of systems of interest to the Navy using System Operational Dependency Analysis (SODA) developed at Purdue. These analysis techniques, expanded from Functional Dependency Network Analysis (MITRE Corp), allow the sponsor to view the effects of cascading failures through a system by characterizing the links between nodes in a directed graph representing that system. The outcomes of such analysis, which is built on models generated from regression of simulation results and the input of subject matter experts, will help identify critical links or subsystems in a network and inform strategic hardening of the system to cyber threats of interest.
