Toward Intrusion Tolerant Clouds

This project focuses on development of next generation cloud computing systems. The global IT infrastructure has become dependent on a relatively small number of very large distributed systems managed as clouds. To achieve adequate scale and availability, cloud computing systems need algorithms and messaging protocols to transform distributed cloud components into a cohesive system that mostly manages itself autonomously and is resilient to intrusion attacks. Neville’s efforts in this project involve the analysis of large-scale, multi-source data from system logs to develop machine learning models to detect and predict intrusions and attacks in the system.
