Abstract

The Strategic Missile Defense system is being proposed by the Bush
administration as a high-tech solution to addressing a critical defense
need. In this talk, Dr. Pfleeger will examine software's role in
solving problems of this type. She will introduce the notion of "solid
software," and compare the requirements for Strategic Missile Defense
with the realities of building solid software to meet them.
